My girlfriend Mel and I ate at Secret Garden Cafe for brunch over the weekend. It’s in cute old historic downtown of Occoquan, Virginia, with a cute little patio and hidden garden atmosphere. I ordered their brisket mash special and it was delicious! I’d definitely recommend this place for breakfast, brunch or lunch!
A Vegetarian Year
I’m attempting to eat more vegetarian this year when I cook at home. I admittedly haven’t been sticking to it 100 percent, but I’ve tried my best. This is a kale salad with pomegranate seeds, crumbled feta and breaded cauliflower. I mixed a little olive oil and lemon as the dressing.
DC Eats: Amsterdam Falafel
If you are looking for a good lunch spot that will not break your budget in DC, try Amsterdam Falafel. They have a few locations scattered throughout the district with reasonable prices and great quality food. I got the falafel small bowl, and I was able to fill it with basically everything on their side bar.
