I’ve been wanting to refresh my wardrobe since the start of this year, and I’m hoping to do a big closet purge this month. In part, this is to make room for some new items like this cozy burgundy sweater and brown OTK boots. My winter style doesn’t get upgraded often, but everything I’m owning is starting to look stale to me. Do you ever get in these fashion ruts?
I usually pull myself out of these ruts by treating myself to something new, but I’ve been travelling so much (ie spending so much money) that I’m trying to detox and spend less in the coming months.
Trying to get inspiration from your own clothes when they are not inspiring you is a challenge. Everyone has been raving about capsule wardrobes, and while I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, it has given me inspiration to minimise my style to maximise my wardrobe.
I’ve been cycling through my few favorite knit sweaters, finding new ways to layer them or pair them to make it look like a new #ootd. This sweater is definitely on repeat. It’s loose enough to work as a layer over tights or jeans. I’m also planning to wear it as a layer with my faux leather leggings, like I did last week with my green turtleneck sweater.
Sadly that is not my dog in the last photo. I was dog-sitting for a friend a couple weeks ago, and she was too cute not to take a photo with!
