Cure on the Catwalk

September 9, 2013 by Kate Style Petite

Today is Shameful Plug Monday!  I’ll be styling and walking with my partner in crime Cynthia in the #WthinksPink Cure on the Catwalk Sept. 26, 2013!  I’m calling on all Atlanta Fashionistas to check out the amazing clothes from Bevello, hair and makeup talents of Van Michael Salon (the creators of my summer hair hit asymmetrical bob) and support Pink Heals Foundation! As a member of the Southern Blog Society, I’ve been partnered with Cynthia to help style her for a look that is runway-ready!

That’s all the happy exciting news, but the truth is that breast cancer  is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. About 1 in 8 women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.  The American Cancer Society estimates that 232,340 new cases will be diagnosed in women in 2013.

My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor, and growing up, my mother (blogger at Sidewalk Shoes) has gone through several serious breast cancer scares.  I love my family, but I’m glad I’m adopted if those are my medical dispositions (too early to joke about it?).  For these strong women and role models in my life, I’m so excited to participate in Cure on the Catwalk!

Get your tickets today – it’s only $20 (just give up two Venti Starbucks coffee or two dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and you can afford to go!)
