I’m starting 2017 with a family affair because my mother took these outfit photos for me and this dress is a hand-me down from my sister. I haven’t worn it a lot. I thought the holiday season would be the perfect time to bring it out. I paired the subtle sequined dress with a faux fur collar to winterize it. And these ASOS heels are always on repeat. I wore this look to my office Christmas party, but this would have been great for New Year’s Eve party or any upcoming function you might be going to.
Do you follow me on Instagram? I posted my Best of Nine for 2016 and it was so fun to go back through all my outfits from this past year. While it’s been a tumultuous 2016 from the ongoing crisis in Syria and extremism around the world to the seismic electoral votes in the United Kingdom and the United States, I’ve lived the fuck out of the year personally.
I travelled to Costa Rica, Iceland and Stockholm with my sister and boyfriend, saw two of my best friends walk down the aisle, learned to surf, really dedicated myself to improving my blog (thank you for following me on this adventure!), celebrated my grandfather’s memory with my family in the most epic cabin in Pigeon Forge, travelled to London twice, and worked with amazing coworkers. I started my master’s programme, which I’ve been talking about doing for the past five years. Personally, I feel like I’ve grown up and learned a lot this year thanks to the brilliant people in my life.
I don’t normally include a lot of personal details on this blog because this blog is really all about style and real life is not glamorous. I’m annoyingly shy when I take outfit photos in public, and I regularly shoot multiple looks in one weekend to schedule out in advance because you know life happens. But I wouldn’t trade this strange adventure called my life for another.
Here’s to another great year of petite fashion, food and hopefully some travel. Thanks for reading!
